Winter still has a chilly grip on things but these hot new dance tracks from Lauren Hildebrandt, Kid Cudi, Royksopp and Cazals are warming up clubland.

Lauren Hildebrandt – Boyshorts

While not a household name yet, Lauren Hildebrandt’s first brush with success came after reaching the top twelve on Debbie Allen’s Fame. That exposure lead to “Burnin’ Out”, a club track that hit #5 on the Billboard club play chart. Her new single, from album Not Really a Waitress hits even harder.

Produced by The Senate (Britney Spears, Mary J. Blige) this sassy slice of electro dance sizzles with enough energy to make an impact on the dancefloor as well as crossover charts.

Kid Cudi - Day 'N' Nite (Crookers Remix)

Crookers took this R & B snoozer, weaved it through their dance machine and pumped out one of the best remixes so far this year. Rarely does a remix sound better than the original but in the case of Kid Cudi’s debut track, the difference between the original and the remix is … “Day 'N' Nite”.

This remix, complete with all the bleeps and pops of great modern dance/ electronic music even surpassed the original on the charts, scoring top ten in the UK. It’s now cracking the top 40 in America. Look out for this one to be pumping out of speakers well into summer.

Royksopp - Happy Up Here

With new record Junior on the horizon, Royksopp have a lot to be happy about. “Happy Up Here”, first single plucked from that forthcoming long player, wears its title well. A subliminal trance cut, it’s light enough to not pollute the air, yet dense enough to make feet move.

This chirpy track may not be another “So Easy” but the breeziness of its rhythm and the familiar groove that makes Royksopp the musical equivalent of a picnic by the sea, makes summer seem that much closer.

Cazals - Life is Boring (Crookers Zuppa del Cazal Mix)

Crookers has been busy these past months. Along with pumping new life into the flat tire of “Day 'N' Nite”, they’ve taken a track from Cazals and spun it into a delicious dub. Sounding like it was recorded in an inner tube, it loops and flutters along with a beat that rips into the mind and won’t let go. Heavy on synthesized bass and swirling keyboards, this powerful debut proves that life, nor Cazals are anything but boring.
