Summer 2009's here! Time for the beach, cool drinks, good friends and an iPod full of the hottest new summer dance tracks to get the party started.

From seasoned pros to up and coming new artists without even a debut album under their arm, July has a batch of new dance / techno tracks hot enough to make it seem like summer all year long.

Here’s a playlist of the best new dance techno songs for July 2009.

Black Eyed Peas - I Gotta Feeling

Once socially conscious, The Black Eyed Peas have gone from rapping/singing about bombs to boobs to boom boom pow on latest album The E.N.D. Signing up French DJ / producer David Guetta on their latest jaunt into club land, the Peas have made another lyrically inane track that’s sure to top the charts and spin all summer long.

Sounds like an ideal party starter, floor filler and Coke commercial. “I Gotta Feeling” is disposable dance pop at its finest. Found on The E.N.D. (The Energy Never Dies).

La Roux – Bulletproof

Third single from their debut album, “Bulletproof” blows away the summer’s other tracks in one quick shot. Snatching highly programmed beats and electronic swirls, which made “Quicksand” and “In For The Kill” so enjoyable and refreshing, kicking them up 20 notches with more-than-obvious 80’s influences, “Bulletproof” should fire La Roux to the top of the charts, and into highly-deserved international stardom. Found on La Roux.

Freemasons Ft Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Heartbreak 'Make Me a Dancer'

Girlfriend gets dumped and has a nervous breakdown. So, distraught, she begs a DJ to give her the answers. Sophie Ellis-Bextor veered into adult pop for the last few years, but with this track, backing courteously of Freemasons, all tears shed can be forgiven. She hasn’t sounded this fresh (or British) since “Murder on the Dancefloor”. Found on Heartbreak 'Make Me a Dancer' - Single

Esser - Headlock

Twenty-three-year old Esser, from the UK, created his first album of electronic pop songs, Braveface, (due August 11) in his bedroom. “You got me in a right state,” he sings on “Headlock” in a thick as soup accent over bouncing drums and kooky electric guitars. This fun, light danceable track about being trapped in love shows promise for one of this year’s up and coming new talents. Found here.

Iglu & Hartly - In This City MHC Remix v3=M=(c)

The aural equivalent of sliding bare-chested down a water park tube, this remix, filled with deep driving synths and beachy vocals over a wave of electronics, twists and turns before ending with a big summer splash. Iglu & Hartly are undeniably one band to watch in 2009. Found here.

The Veronicas - Untouched

Unheard for nearly two years, this track recently surfaced in the UK and topped the charts. Tapping into girl power vocals the equivalent of a high-speed car chase, these Australian twins, former song writers for the short lived T.A.T.U., add dark synths and heavy programmed strings to bring this high energy clomp to life. Found on Hook Me Up.

Mistress Barbara featuring Sam Roberts - Running

Percolating pop corn synths explode over a Chemical Brothers-sounding back beat as the Mistress and Canadian rock hero sing of running away from fear, questions, all their answers and “running not to lose the human race”. Who knew Sam Roberts could sound this good on a dance track? If summer could be piped into earphones, it would sound like this. Found on I’m No Human.

N.A.S.A. - "Whatchadoin' (feat. M.I.A., Spankrock and Santigold) (Villains Remix)

While they prep their first album of originals and continue touring, LA beat conductors Villains spin this dub into the perfect summer vibe for dancing barefoot on the beach. Mixing MIA & Santigold over a trance groove and adding bongo drums makes this one of the oddest remixes all summer – a true original from one of the hottest remix teams currently spinning.

Robyn – Because of Boys

As part of iTunes Foreign Exchange, Robyn channels Yelle on this English version of their “A Cause des Garcons”. Mixing synths from her own “Cobrastyle”, Robyn adds a layer of fun to this track that “Works that booty down to the floor”. Found on iTunes Foreign Exchange.

Yelle – Qui Est Cette Fille

French synth pop trio Yelle cover (and translate) Robyn’s “Who’s That Girl”, adding a layer of synthesized 80’s cheese and a hint of pop detachment. Probably the best dance floor fillers that’ll never be played in US clubs. A fun experiment for summer 2009. Found on iTunes Foreign Exchange.

Along with the best new dance/ techno tracks from June, Summer 2009, featuring this July playlist, seems to be shaping up for an electro-charged good time.

All tracks available at most digital outlets.
